Cheat Balls and Courgetti

   Prep Time: 10 mins

   Cooking Time: 15 mins

  • 3x Aldi's Lincolnshire Sausages
  • 210g Courgettes (spiralised)
  • ½ tin of Chopped Tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp Water
  • ½ tsp of dried Basel
  • ½ tsp of dried Oregano
  • ½ Garlic clove (minced)
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

  • Fat: 28.1g



- Squeeze the sausage meat out of the casings and roll into 6 balls
- Heat a non stick frying pan* and brown the meatballs.
- While the meatballs are browning add the tinned tomatoes, water, garlic, basil, oregano, garlic and salt and pepper to a wide saucepan/stove top casserole dish and bring to a simmer.
- Transfer the meatballs into the tomato sauce, leaving the fat from the sausages in the frying pan, simmer uncovered until the tomato sauce reduces and thickens (approx 10 minutes).
- Fry the spiralized courgette in the sausage fat whilst the meatballs are simmering.

I used the JML Copper Stone non stick pan that needs no fat added, plenty of fat comes out of the sausage meat, but if you have a pan that’s lost its stick a bit you may want to wipe it with oil.
